Good food at a great location. Steak bites are delicious. Disappointed that they have taken local breweries (Barnhammer) off the taps and have replaced with domestic offerings. Would be nice to have multiple local crafts brews on tap.

I have heard great reviews of Rockwood Grill so My SO and I decided to check it out for our very first time last Friday. We were very fortunate that we got seated right away at arrival as the restaurant does not take in any reservations in any weekends evenings.
We really enjoyed the decor and the ambient of the restaurant, however, we were not pleased with the service. Our entree order was never taken until we finished our appetizer. After an hour of dining in, our entree finally arrived.
For appetizer, we ordered a beef brisket poutine. The fries and gravy were good, however, the beef brisket was quite dry and hard, which ruined the poutine.
For entree, we ordered the full rack pork ribs with a side of Mac & Cheese and smoked garlic and Asiago mashed potato and the signature Smoked Beef Brisket Grilled Cheese.
The mac & cheese was very poor. It was quite wet, as if the chef did not bother to drain the macaroni from the pot before serving it. When we raised our concern to the server, we had the side replaced with stuffed potato instead. As I was placing the order, I was thinking to myself: what could possibly go wrong with a stuffed potato? It's a pretty choice right?! They can't possibly screw that up! Of course anything could go wrong! The stuffed potato that we received was not fresh and it did not look appetizing at all. Its potato skin was overbaked. It was very hard and dry.
The pork ribs were quite disappointing as well. You can tell that the ribs were boiled prior to being grilled. They were overcooked on the inside and were not flavourful at all.
The smoked beef brisket grilled cheese sandwich should have been named as the "Smoked Beef Brisket sandwich with cheese" instead because it was more of a beef brisket sandwich than a grilled cheese. It was a great idea to integrate beef brisket into a grilled cheese sandwich, however, they did not do a good job with the execution. Once again, the beef brisket was too dry and hard.
My overall experience at Rockwood Grill has been negative unfortunately. I do not intend to go back to it anytime soon in the near future. -

I've now been to Rockwood 3 times. 2/3 of the visits have been sub par.
Today's visit, we ordered the bruschetta appetizer... It was OK but was mostly just tomato and balsamic. I ordered the 100 Mile Burger with the Cesar salad. On a previous visit I sampled the burger and thought it was great so I wanted one of my own. Was disappointed! The burger was way over cooked. That wasn't the worst thing, the cesar salad was inedible. Rockwood thinks they have to smoke everything, some things are not meant to be heated, romaine lettuce is one of them. The lettuce was like burnt paper. My girlfriends cedar salmon was also over cooked. The service was also poor.
On the visit before I ordered a plate with mixed smoked meats which was excellent but the service that visit was also very poor.
Rockwood is priced slightly higher than similar restaurants like Famous Daves but is not as good.
I waited to review until the restaurant had been open for a while just to give them a fair chance to get the kinks out but it seems like there is no improvement and actually may be getting worse. I can't see the restaurant surviving especially in a residential area that generates little lunch traffic. A more economically priced restaurant that does weekend brunch should have filled the space. -

The 100 mile burger was delicious ... Must try. The patty was juicy inside and has a crunch on the outside , the sauce was so yummy
